Paper sizes

The paper picker in the editor bar sets the page size for the whole document.

Pick a paper

  1. Open the paper picker in the editor bar (its label is "Page size").
  2. Search by name, or scroll the list. Each paper shows its size in its own unit.
  3. Click one. The canvas changes to that page.

The 22 presets are grouped:

GroupPapers
Standard paper (ISO)A3, A4, A5, A6, B5
US & CanadaLetter, Legal, Tabloid, Executive, Half Letter
Receipts & billsReceipt 80 mm, Receipt 58 mm
LabelsShipping label 4 × 6, Shipping label 100 × 150, Address label 4 × 2, Barcode label 2 × 1
EnvelopesEnvelope DL, Envelope C5, Envelope #10
Cards & ticketsBusiness card, ID card / badge, Event ticket

New blank documents and AI drafts start on A4.

Portrait or landscape

Use the Portrait / Landscape toggle in the picker. It is switched off for receipt rolls, custom sizes and square sizes.

Use a custom size

  1. In the picker, choose Custom size….
  2. Choose the unit (mm or in) and enter Width and Height.
  3. Each side must be between 36 and 3370 points (the form shows the limits in your unit). Click Apply.

Use Back to paper sizes to return to the list.

Receipts

Receipt 80 mm and Receipt 58 mm have a fixed width. The PDF is one page, as tall as the content, however long the receipt grows. The designer shows a nominal page height while you work.

To see this in practice, clone the Receipt starter: a shop bill on Receipt 80 mm with an items table that grows with the data, totals and a barcode of the receipt number. See the Receipt cookbook.

Changing paper fits your layout

When you change paper, Paperwright fits the layout to the new width: positions and stretchable widths scale, while images, QR codes, icons and ellipses keep their aspect ratio and only shrink. A toast says "Layout fitted to the new paper width."

The whole change is one undo step (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

note

Viewers of a shared template can't change the paper.
